Abstract
Dieser Beitrag bietet einen Überblick über die Forschung zum virtuellen Kuppeln im Next Generation Train-Projekt des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt. Es werden verschiedene Analysen, z.B. zu technologischen Entwicklungen im Kommunikations- und Ortungsbereich, Auswirkungen auf den Energiebedarf sowie betriebliche Konzepte zusammengefasst, um die Herausforderungen und Möglichkeiten des Konzepts zu verdeutlichen. In Teil 1 des Beitrags wird das Konzept an sich vorgestellt, Charakteristika der fahrzeugzentrierten Idee des virtuellen Kuppelns und damit zusammenhängende Hindernisse werden aufgezeigt. Weiterhin werden potenzielle Lösungen für zwei der wichtigsten Herausforderungen vorgestellt: direkte Zug-zu-Zug-Kommunikation und relative Ortung als Schlüsselfunktionen für das kooperative Fahrverhalten und die Sicherheit beim Fahren im relativen Bremsabstand. Abschließend werden die daraus folgenden Vorteile beschrieben. In Teil 2 werden die zuvor besprochenen Herausforderungen und Vorteile dann anhand des Anwendungsbeispiels Slip Coaching (Verkehr mehrerer kurzer, virtuell gekuppelter Zugeinheiten zwischen Knotenbahnhöfen) veranschaulicht und quantifiziert.
