Improvement of Tourists’ Experience to Promote Sustainable Tourism
Abstract
Generally, “saving time and labors” is considered as an important factor when we design services and products. However, designing of tourisms cannot necessarily be estimated from such criteria. In this section, we are discussing tourism from aspects of system design for communications. First, concept of “Benefit of inconvenience (BI)” is introduced. BI is an idea for system design in which inconveniences are utilized for designing explicitly and actively. Next, concept “Media biotope” is introduced. Media biotope is a scheme of communities in which each community is developing autonomously by communicating with the other communities. These concepts are used for creating close relations between tourists and the local people in designing BI/MB system. Examples of BI/MB systems for sustainable tourism are shown.
